The iOS 14 operating system brought a lot of innovations, not only in terms of user interface improvements or in the form of new functions, but also in a number of native applications. One of them is Notes – let's now take a look at what new features you can use in Notes in iOS 14.

One of the most important innovations not only for Notes in iOS 14 is the possibility of adding a widget to the desktop. For Notes, as with other apps, you can choose from several different sizes and formats, simply adding a widget by long-clicking on a free space on your iPhone's desktop and tapping “+” in the upper left corner. In the application list, select Notes, select the desired format, and add a widget by clicking the Add Widget button.

Native Notes also acquired a brand new user interface with the advent of iOS 14. The search bar now appears above the list of all folders, without having to swipe down the screen to display it. The menu with actions in Notes has also been changed – if you click on the three-dot wheel icon in the upper right corner of the note, you will see options for further work with the relevant content, including all possible sharing options.

New options for pinned notes

If you like the function of pinning important notes to the top of the list, you will also welcome the option to "collapse" all pinned notes with a single click on the arrow to the right. Click repeatedly to expand the pinned notes again. If you want to pin the selected note to the top of the list of all notes, open it first. Then click the three-dot circle icon in the upper right corner and select Pin.

Better work with text

You can change the font size, style, color, and font in native Notes (not only) in the iOS environment for some time. Until now, you could make font adjustments in your notes by clicking the appropriate icon in the bar above the keyboard. But now all you have to do is select the text you want to edit and click on it. A black menu will appear directly next to the text – click on the font icon in it and then in the next menu select whether you want to convert the text to bold, italic, underlined or strikethrough.
