One of the new features that you will notice at first glance in the native Photos on iPadOS is the new sidebar. You can show or hide the sidebar by tapping the icon in the upper left corner of the iPad screen. In the panel on the left you can see clearly arranged items Library, For you, Albums, People and more, you will also find categories for individual types of media (Videos, Selfies, Live Photos, Time Lapse and more) or a list of individual albums. After clicking Edit in the upper right corner of the sidebar, you can delete individual albums or shared albums from it, and click the arrow next to each category to collapse the list.

There are also new options for sorting photos and videos in the library – clicking on the three dots icon in the upper right corner of the tablet screen will bring up a menu where you can choose to filter items where you can view your favorite or edited photos, or just photos or videos only. In this menu, you can also change the way thumbnails of photos in the library are displayed or switch to displaying images on a map. In iPadOS 14 and iOS 14, you can now also add captions to photos and videos – just open the desired image and slowly swipe up. A panel appears at the bottom of the screen where you can enter a label. When you activate Photos on iCloud, the captions are synced across all your devices signed in to the same iCloud account. Improvements have also been made to iPadOS 14 in the Memories feature, which now boasts better stabilization when playing videos with memories, a richer selection of music tracks with the ability to automatically adjust to the length of the memory, and improved frames. Probably the most significant change in native Photos in iPadOS is the mentioned sidebar. One of its biggest advantages is the possibility of hiding in case it does not suit you for any reason. In terms of accessibility, the ability to add captions to photos and videos is great news, and the richer options for customizing the display of photos and videos in the library are also great. Photos in iPadOS 14 offer news from which everyone can choose. At the same time, however, this is not a significant reworking to limit those who did not care about any news.
