What is actually new at the Bitwarden password manager that we have recommended to you a few times and that can also be operated on your own server? The open source solution has now undergone another external security audit. In November 2018, Bitwarden successfully completed a source code audit and cryptographic analysis by the security company Cure53. Now it is announced that Bitwarden has completed a thorough security assessment and penetration test by the accounting firm Insight Risk Consulting.
For the purposes of full disclosure, advanced users will now find a summary compiled by the Insight Risk Consulting team, along with an internal report detailing each problem, an impact analysis and the actions taken / planned by Bitwarden to address the identified problems contains.
