Samsung has added three more devices to its list of phones that will receive monthly security updates. These are the Galaxy A50 , Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Xcover 4s .
Adding Fold to this list is no surprise, as it is a flagship device. The presence of the Galaxy A50 in the list just makes it official what is already happening. The company’s first mid-range phone sales this year have been paying particular attention to software updates so far, with the update being a little too monthly, but so far the owners didn’t know if they could expect anything similar in the future. This move is clearly linked to the sales figures of the A50, as Samsung mid-rangers are usually on another list, with phones receiving quarterly security updates.
The presence of the Galaxy Xcover 4s on this list, on the other hand, is really a surprise, but it probably has something to do with the category of customers it is targeting. We assume that most sales of durable phone are to companies and obviously for them security is of the utmost importance. So it makes sense for Samsung to really focus on it and not disappoint these corporate customers.
