iPhone SE 2020 snaps like Xiaomi Mi 8, according to DxOMark
iPhone SE 2020 tested by DxOMark: how has the photographic sector behaved?
The new iPhone SE 2020 scored 103 points for the photo sector (the total is 101), with the approval of DxOMark in terms of exposure and color. In addition, the shots offer a good level of detail even if things change radically with the night scenes: the flash manages to save the situation in some contexts, but in general the device is not designed for night photography.
Among the main defects it is impossible not to mention the single photographic sensor: nowadays the lack of a module for the depth of field is something extremely rare and even the absence of a telephoto lens is felt (just note the zoom item in the table in tall).
The smartphone positioned itself in 37th place, six positions above the Xiaomi Mi 8, the former flagship of Lei Jun's house. Between the two there are models such as iPhone XR, Google Pixel 3A and Samsung Galaxy S9 +. In short, we would have expected a little more from Apple, but basically we are still talking about a smartphone designed for the mid-range. In addition to the main module, the famous portal also screened the selfie camera's performance, a 7 MP sensor with f / 2.2 aperture. This is the same solution seen on iPhone X, deprived of the TrueDepth component. Automatic HDR and soft flash function available using the display; the results obtained in the various samples place iPhone SE 2020 among the top twenty positions in the DxOMark ranking: nothing impressive and the portal itself reminds us that the device is a mid-range solution. Despite this, on the selfie side the little Apple manages to overcome Huawei Mate 30 Pro, bringing home a satisfaction.
