Paul Harker's wonderful adventures
Thirteen-year-old Paul suffers from hypertrichosis, a disease that causes excessive hair growth all over his body and face. After a catastrophic experience at the carnival, where he is the target of ridicule because of his appearance, Paul sets out to find his mother, who left him after his birth. In New Jersey, he meets a number of unusual characters, including a transgender girl Aristiana, who works as a drag queen, and a young homeless woman, Rose, who makes a living by stealing gas stations. Paula and his companions are being chased by two people – Mr. Silk, the mysterious owner of an amusement park longing for revenge for a ruined carnival, and Officer Pollok, who was hired by Paul's father to track down his missing son.
The last shift
Stanley (Richard Jenkins), a fast food employee, plans to resign after 38 years of working at Oscar’s Chicken and Fish. The turning point comes on his last weekend, when he teaches his successor, Jevon (Shane Paul McGhie), a talented writer, with provocative ideas that keep him in trouble. The two men, who have very little in common, bring circumstances together. Stanley didn't finish high school and watched life flow through his fingers at the restaurant's window. Young man Jevon, too smart to fry pancakes in fast food, considers their work to be exploitation. During the long night shift in the kitchen, a special bond develops between them.
