QNAP NAS: Security updates should be installed

Owners of a NAS from QNAP who do not regularly mess around in the administration interface should check whether all the latest security updates have been installed. QNAP has put current security information under the Christmas tree for users, which explains that some weaknesses have been sealed with the current updates.

Not only QES (QNAP Enterprise Storage) is affected, but also the "ordinary" NAS operating system QTS. All vulnerabilities have been rated “high” by QNAP. In QTS and QuTS hero, any commands can be executed in a compromised application through a successful command injection.

From QTS 4.5.1.1495 build 20201123 and QuTS hero h4.5.1.1491 build 20201119 the gap is considered closed. QTS 4.3.x or QTS 4.2.x are not affected. Should you rely on QES, I have linked the vulnerabilities and their descriptions to you.
