Review of AlzaPower AluCore USB-C to Lightning MFi: Affordable cable for demanding users

In today's review we will look at the AluCore USB-C to Lightning MFi cable from Alza's workshop. This is very popular among users, so we decided to find out why this is so. At first glance, the cable does not deviate too much from the series. So what impression did we make on us after a month of sharp use?

Technical Specifications

AlzaPower AluCore USB-C to Lightning MFi is a charging and syncing cable with USB-C and Lightning terminals on the other side, making it compatible with the vast majority of iPhones, iPads and iPod touches. The cable supports fast charging and USB Power Delivery 3.0 and is certified by Apple within the MFi program. In other words, it meets the high standards of official accessories for Apple products, with which it is logically and fully compatible.

As mentioned above, in addition to charging, the cable can also be used to synchronize data that can run through it at a maximum speed of 480 Mbps. So you certainly won't have to complain about slow drag-and-drop files, and if you do, the interface on your computer will be more to blame than the cable itself. Of course, during synchronization, the device cable is also able to charge, which can be useful from time to time.

The cable was created with a focus on its durability, which we will discuss more below. Therefore, I will only add to the paragraph on technical specifications that it should have no problem withstanding 12 thousand bends in the connection of the terminal with the cable, 15 thousand bends of the cable as such or 8 thousand operations performed with the terminal – ie insertion or ejection into or out of the device. All this thanks to quality materials headed with tinned copper or nylon braid. The price of the cable is 399 crowns.

Processing

I admit that although the products from the AlzaPower line have been on the market for quite a long time and I have really had enough of them in my hands, so far it has only been a Lightning / USB-A model. I was really very happy with that at the time and I would probably still be, because I bought it after the review and used it for another x months without any problem. But then I made a big mistake and lent it to my brother, which was also the last thing I did with the cable. But let's get back to the topic – the quality of AluCore cable processing. It was already at a high level at the time, so I somehow expected Lightning / USB-C to be the same in this respect. And that it is.

The cable consists of a metal body, which is covered with a nylon knit. The terminals are wrapped in aluminum bodies, with the fact that their connection to the cable protects the plastic rubber terminals, thanks to which you should not be able to damage this place by frequent manipulation of the cable – for example, tear or something. The cable also has a Velcro strap, which is used to wind the cable to keep it in shape. Sure, it's kind of a mess, but these guys are great because they're very useful. In terms of processing, the AlzaPower AluCore USB-C to Lightning MFi has nothing to complain about, quite the opposite. It looks much better than, for example, the original cables from Apple.

I tried to test the cable for about a month in the best way possible – with life. So I used it as my primary cable, thanks to which I enjoyed two shorter holidays with me, a few trips and, of course, countless simple charging and synchronization operations in the comfort of my office. And the result? The cable passed the number one star. After a month, not only does it still work as when I unpacked it from the box at the beginning of July, but it also looks the same. Whether we're talking about fast charging or data synchronization, everything is done without any problems and as fast as using original accessories from Apple's workshop – I compared specifically when using a 16 ”MacBook Pro, iPhone XS and charging adapters and cables from Apple. As for any wear and tear of the product, it is really zero after a month. So the cable looks almost as I pulled it out of the box. I say almost deliberately, because there has been some change. By using the cable, or rather its metal-nylon body softened very decently, thanks to which it adapted better to the environment and in general it was therefore possible to work better with it, for example in bed and so on. However, the flexible body logically no longer holds its shape, so when winding, for example, you no longer get such an even circle as before. However, I would by no means call this a weakness – quite the contrary.

Resume

Ladies and gentlemen, there is nothing to talk about here. If you are looking for a really good charging or synchronization cable with USB-C and Lightning terminals for a good price, go to AlzaPower AluCore USB-C to Lightning. This is one of the best choices on the market today. The cable is extremely reliable, durable and, most importantly, affordable. When I add the MFi certification and a great price, I get a product that you simply can't touch next to buy.
