Slovak ČSOB launched Apple Pay. But it has a catch
Although exactly a year has passed since the launch of Apple Pay in Slovakia four days ago, some local banks are still hesitant to introduce support. One of them has been the Slovak branch of ČSOB until today, which enjoys solid popularity among Slovaks. Fortunately, their wait for Apple Pay is now over. ČSOB finally launched Apple Pay in Slovakia today – at least in part.

Despite long preparations, the Slovak ČSOB was not able to provide support for all the cards it issues when Apple Pay starts. Users can now only add cards from Mastercard to Wallet on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, iPod touch or Mac. If you have a VISA card holder, you will have to wait until the autumn of this year, for which the introduction of their support is planned, at the latest. It is a bit of an exaggeration to say that Slovaks are on the same page with the Czechs in this respect, who also had to make do with the support of Mastercard cards after the start of ČSOB at Apple Pay. However, it was possible to add VISA cards to Wallet relatively soon after the launch, so we can only hope that it will not be different in Slovakia either.
