The use of BOE displays on iPhones 12 is at risk

Not so long ago, we informed you in our magazine about Apple's problems related to the production of displays for iPhones 12. This year, a new BOE supplier was supposed to take care of this, which was to complement the existing LG and Samsung. According to the available information, the second named manufacturer was to lose a significant part of its order due to the BOE and thus become a little more indispensable for Apple. However, it seems that nothing like this happens in the end.

Only a few weeks ago, BOE sent Apple the first test pieces of its OLED displays for iPhones 12. However, their quality was poor and it was necessary to increase it as much as possible. However, according to sources from the Asian portal DigiTimes, the BOE did not succeed, which is why Apple decided not to remove at least the first manufactured iPhone 12 displays from its workshop. So if you want to buy an iPhone 12 right after the start of its sales, you will definitely not come across the BOE panel in it.

It is difficult to say at this point how the whole situation regarding BOE displays will develop in the coming weeks or months. It is not at all certain whether the manufacturer can satisfy Apple's requirements at all. If this were not the case, even with the iPhone 12, Apple would have to rely only on displays from Samsung and LG. Whether the BOE would give a chance in the coming years, however, is in the stars.
