Verimi now also supports the digital identity card (iOS)
One login for everything, that is the goal of Verimi. The service from Germany describes itself as user-friendly, data protection compliant and secure. Instead of having a single login for each service, Verimi users can simply identify themselves using the Verimi button, if one is provided on a page. Using the NFC interface, Verimi is now offering users of the service's iOS app the option of saving their ID card so that it can be accessed online at any time.
According to the company in its press release, Verimi stores the data securely encrypted using the local memory of the personal iPhone.
Verimi makes the use of the eID function of the ID card much easier: No extra app is required and you save yourself having to hold your ID to your mobile phone every time you use it and also enter your eID PIN every time. The Verimi user gives access to his data conveniently via touch or face ID. Digital identity has to be that simple to be accepted by the user. – Roland Adrian, spokesman for Verimi
You should then be able to use the personal ID stored in the app without any problems at banks, insurance companies or in administration, since the digital ID card is accepted in the private sector as well as for many online administrative services. The Federal Ministry of the Interior, for Building and Home Affairs, also stands behind the service and has declared the level of trust “substantial” for the public administration.
