Vivo recently unveiled the Vivo S5 in China with a diamond-shaped rear camera layout. Now, the company has announced the Vivo S1 Pro in the Philippines with similar camera layout. Price in the country is at PHP 15,999 (€ 283) for the only variant of the 8GB + 128GB phone.
The new Vivo S1 Pro for the Philippines is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, which is slightly inferior to the Snapdragon 675 powered by the Chinese S1 Pro released in May. It will only be available in versions with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, at least for now. At the front, it features a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED FHD + (1080 x 2340 pixel) drop-slot display that will host a 32MP resolution camera for selfies and video calls. The Chinese variant, on the other hand, features a pop-up front camera and offers a full-screen experience with no holes and notches.
The back of the phone has the same design as the recently released Vivo S5 in China. Therefore, the quadruple rear camera and LED flash are mounted on a diamond shaped unit. The quadruple camera consists of a 48MP main sensor with f / 1.8 aperture and an 8MP aperture sensor with f / 2.2 aperture, which can capture photos with a 108-degree field of view. The third depth sensor is 2MP resolution and the fourth is 2MP macro with f / 2.4 aperture.
The new Vivo S1 Pro runs FuntouchOS 9.2 based on Android 9.0 Pie and features a microSD card slot to further expand storage up to 256GB. It also has a slot for 3.5mm headphones and a fingerprint sensor on the screen, which is now becoming the norm. Finally, the device is powered by a 4,500 mAh battery pack with 18W fast charge support via USB Type-C port.
