What about Banggood? Where did Priority Direct Mail go?
Given the dozens of messages we have been receiving for a few days on the contact form we thought it appropriate to solve everybody’s questions with a detailed article. As many of you will have noticed, for 3-4 days the Priority Direct Mail option has disappeared from most (not all) Banggood smartphones.
This is the only reliable method of shipping customs-free parcels in Greece (since the devices are practically cleared in the Netherlands) and one that we have all been choosing for years. But what has happened and disappeared from the available options?
Banggood’s Chinese are undergoing restructuring and have closed the process for a few days until all disputes are resolved with the shipping company that handles our parcels. We were informed that by mid-October the matter would have been resolved and Priority Direct Mail would be back on all smartphones – as before.
Also, for those who have ordered in the previous days with this method, there will be no problem, since they will be first to ship when Priority Direct Mail is reopened.
What do we do until it comes back?
You can buy other Banggood products that normally have Priority Direct Mail, since it mainly affects the smartphones. Other devices have no problem and are shipped normally. Of course some Banggood models of smartphones still have the option and you can safely select it, just a few at a time, such as the Redmi Note 8 Pro .
Alternatively for this period – if you are in a hurry – you can opt for Gearbest with Netherlands Registered PDM (again without customs in Greece – ie safe) or Geekbuying with EU Priority Line. With these methods above, You have NO customs problem in Greece, since the devices are cleared in the Netherlands (usually) and come into our country.
General rule for secure orders
It is good to remember the golden rule before ordering to avoid mishaps (customs). Before every purchase in Chinese stores (Banggood, Gearbest, Geekbuying) we select:
- whatever method we want (the cheapest with tracking we say) (if the price is below $ 22) – no customs.
- Priority Direct Mail (or EU Priority Line / Railway if available) for purchases of over $ 22 from Banggood.
- Netherlands Netherlands Registered PDM / Railway for purchases over $ 22 from Gearbest to avoid customs.
Remember: Shipping Insurance / Guarantee is OPTIONAL (concerns parcel loss). IF you buy Chinese smartphones with PayPal (as we recommend) You do NOT need Shipping Insurance / Guarantee. It will cover you PayPal.
