In February 2019, Xiaomi launched the Mi 9, the first mass-produced mobile with the SD855 and awesome VFM. The handset had availability issues allowing other handsets to catch up on sales. The company intended to release the Pro model this year as well, but its subsidiary, now independent Redmi, was shocked by the twin Redmi K20 / K20 Pro. The company adopted the mobile as the Mi 9T / 9T Pro and the excellent Mi 9 was lost in the shadows of the latter. Throughout the year it had regular upgrades and was an excellent market. It is no longer available on Xiaomi's official website yesterday.

Lei Jun, President and CEO of Xiaomi Group, told Xiaomi Core Supplier Conference that the company will launch 5G-enabled smartphones next year. The tech giant has completed the sale of 4G smartphones and the removal of the Mi 9 from the site is the first confirmation of that statement. The Mi 9 has not yet completed a year on the shelves – better than my Mi 8 that saw a 9 month replacement. Removal from the store also indicates that Xiaomi may be thinking of an early release of the Mi 10, following the opening of the Chinese market to 5G handsets.
Xiaomi Mi 10
Recently, an Xiaomi 5G smartphone with model number “M2001J1E” appeared at the Chinese Certification Center Quality (3C). It is assumed that the handset is Xiaomi Mi 10. According to the certification, the Mi 10 supports a charging speed of up to 66W. Unfortunately, most details are still unknown and it is difficult to determine precise specifications from just one certification.
As soon as the Mi 9 arrives with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 SoC, the Mi 10 will receive the company's latest processor. The Snapdragon 865 has not been officially announced but it is the processor we will see in the upcoming flagship. It is likely to have at least a triple camera, but more likely to have a quadruple or a fivefold camera. We'll know more in the next two months.
