Six months ago, Lei Jun, Xiaomi's Chief Executive Officer, listed Xiaomi's product line on Weibo. He said the company would only proceed with the original Mi series, the Mi MIX line, and added the new Mi CC line. The latter is a continuation of the X series and was born as a result of working with Meitu. The executive did not mention the very popular Mi Max series. The series was created to compete for widescreen devices in the primary and middle class and as a media center for youth. The Mi Maxs have a large fan base and the news saddened a lot of people.

Last night, fans of the company demanded from Redmi, and in particular the manager of its subsidiary, Lu Weibing, a new release date for the next Mi Max. In response, Lu Weibing made it clear that there would be no new release of the series. This official answer is the end of the series that was born in 2016. The first-generation mobile was equipped with a 6.44-inch 1080P display with a long battery life. In 2016, there weren't many products with such a screen size. The size of smartphones was 5 to 5.5 inches. The latest model in the series is the Mi Max_3 released last year. Due to the use of full screen technology, its screen size reached 6.9 inches, which is close to the size of a tablet.
With the increase in screen size over the last three years, the market for large screens is now open to almost all models. Today's flagship models have reached the size of the original model while many gaming smartphones exceed it. It was reasonable to interrupt the series. Widescreen screens over 7 inches are embedded in foldable models.
