Xiaomi: new patent-exaggeration, comes mobile-circus?
OK, we said patents are good for every manufacturer to assert their rights, as long as they have a certain… basis, some significant bro! So today's news from AH that Xiaomi has filed a CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Organization) patent for mobile with… 7 pop up cameras, two in front as selfies and up to 5 on the back! Exaggeration;
Let's look at them in more detail. The Chinese company has filed patents for 3 different mobile phone designs in the field of pop up camera. They all have the same design, with the camera module "jumping" from the top of the device and occupying a very large part of it, about 60-70%! All 3 designs have 2 selfies in the front, but what changes is the number of cameras on the back of the quilt pop up quartet, starting at 2, going to 3 cameras while the last patent concerns a 5 camera device! Obviously though the third design will be chosen we will be dealing with a "circus smartphone" that its 7 cameras (in total) will undoubtedly be exaggerated.
The truth is that I wonder how 5 cameras (lenses, sensors) will fit in such a small space, but that's just what Xiaomi knows. The designs submitted by the company, however, show the front of the device, which of course is completely 'clean', with no notch or anything else, and stands out for its bezel less design on almost all sides. On the side there is the Power / Lock key while just above it we find the volume rocker keys to adjust the sound.
It's not the first time the Chinese have been preparing to launch a smartphone with a pop-up camera after months of redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T and Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro. But as is always the case with patents, they are not a confirmation that we will actually see a similar device in the future, they are simply a patent for design – for the time being.
How do you get the idea of a mobile with 5, 6, or even 7 cameras in total?
